Selection - The Golden Key to Happiness

Chapter 2: Your Thoughts Create Your Life
Page: 3/3

If you always fear failure, you will definitely fail. If you constantly worry about illness, you will one day contract illness. If you always try to think about joyful, happy things, and behave as cheerfully as possible, you will certainly become happy some day.

Even if you succeed in running away from the circumstances given to you, the same circumstances will run after you, because your environment and circumstances do not change as long as your mind and heart do not change. The environment and circumstances given to you now constitute the world you have long depicted in your mind and heart; they represent an evolution of the world you have envisioned. People often think that other people and the society are to blame for every event that takes place around them, but that is not the case. Every event that evolves around you is made from the vibrations of your thought. If the vibrations of your thought are always wonderful and cheerful, your surroundings undoubtedly will make a world always filled with happiness and laughter. If the vibrations of your thought are gloomy and dank, the atmosphere that surrounds you will always be dark and unpleasant. The principle is not that you change when your surroundings change, but that your surroundings change when you change.

Sometimes one’s thoughts race round endlessly, flying wildly as if they do not know how to stop. It’s fine to race toward a bright, luminous future. However, it is not good to let your thoughts wander into the abyss of dark and lonely solitude, which, once you step in, may pull you down to the boundless world of darkness. At times your thoughts may bring back to this concrete world, unmodified, the events that happened in that dark world. When your mind wishes to leap toward the dark on its own accord, that’s the exact moment you need to put the brakes on it.

One cannot possibly become unhappy if there is no doubt whatsoever in the mind. Your doubt destroys all the happiness in your life. Doubt falls into the mind the moment you distance yourself from the law of the universe, and doubt attracts negative thoughts. To give these negative thoughts no space to enter, you must always direct your mind toward God.

All of us are capable of following the way of life we have determined to follow.
All of us are capable of becoming as happy as we have determined to be.
All of us are capable of getting as much as we have determined to get.
All of us are capable of living as we have determined to live.
All of us are capable of maintaining as much health as we have determined to maintain.
In short, our lives unfold exactly the way we have wished and envisioned.
