What is true awakening? True awakening is the recovery of lost intuition—the intuition originally given to each human being. Intuition is the plane through which the light of universal wisdom flows freely into our consciousness. It is because they are merely using their limited material knowledge, instead of tapping into their wondrous, innate intuition, that people continue to wander unnecessarily, shouldering needless burdens and suffering needless worries and afflictions.
Your own intuitive perception is crystal clear. Now, at this moment, attune your heart to your flawless intuition, which comprehends everything. Right now, it can sense what you must do, what you need, and where to direct your steps as you walk along today’s path.
Even if you could call forth every particle of knowledge that you have ever acquired, it would not enable you to resolve the difficulties that presently stand before you. However considerable it might be, your knowledge pertains to your past experiences. It does not pertain to the ‘you’ who exists today. It cannot point out your true direction for the future. While it might perhaps provide assistance in a minor way, it cannot offer you a fundamental solution.
From ancient times until today, how many people have lived out their lives relying only on accumulated knowledge? What legacy has it left us with? The answer is plain for anyone to see. It has given us war after war and illness after illness. It has given us famines, disasters, and all manner of suffering.
At long last, we have come to the moment when each member of humanity must compose his or her thoughts and take a serious look at what has been happening. It is now time for this world to make the transition from our present, material culture to the culture of the future—a bright, flourishing, spiritual culture founded on principles of infinite light and harmony.
Whatever happens, and whatever conflicting emotions may pass through our minds, let’s continue to think and speak words that invite happiness and harmony. As a result, even though our consciousness may not always be attuned to our true, universal self, we will see an enormous change from our past mentality, when most of our thoughts were focused on a belief in suffering and misery. Step by step, our bright thoughts will have the effect of creating new causes that give rise to luminous future conditions. The happy situations that we desire will naturally take shape around us, and the wonderful people, things, talents, and insights that we desire will naturally find their way to us.
As more and more of us continue living in this way, with a pure and simple belief in its effectiveness, before long we will discover that we have undergone a marvelous inner transformation. By producing this change in ourselves, we will, at the same time, bring about positive changes in the world. |
